ROCHESTER - An unsettling feeling presented itself soon after entering the Mooyah eatery at The Ridge.
First, the menu printed on large placards at the register as you enter has no prices.
When I asked the cost of certain items, such as "The Mooyah Cheeseburger (single beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, MOOYAH sauce," the cashier noticeably grimaced, scanned the register, looked another place and after a few seconds finally said almost $12.
I was already disillusioned, but my granddaughter was starving and I was, too.
It sounded a bit much, but I figured we'd just share it and have enough.
Next, she wanted a shake, "the red one," which happened to be strawberry.
I then asked for the the sizes and prices.
Again, another scanning of the register for about 15 seconds: It was something like 8 bucks for a large, 5 bucks for a small.
We got the small. So the total was almost $18 for our "meal."
They don't have servers, so they get your name to call you when your order is ready, but it was more of a screech then a call, and when they did call, some alarm went off, so it was just weird.
To wrap it up in a gluten free bun, the burger was blah blah blah, and I don't know what the MOOYAH sauce consists of cause I didn't taste it.
The shake was quite good, however, saving the day but not by a lot.
Next time, I'll go to a burger joint and save a couple of bucks.
