Months-long probe into heroin trafficking yields arrests of three from Berwick

BERWICK, Maine - Berwick Police today announced the conclusion of a several month investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant today on School Street and the arrest of several suspected drug dealers.

Among those arrested was Kristen Farwell, 40, of School Street, on three counts of trafficking heroin. Farwell's bail was set at $20,000, and she was transported to York County Jail.

William Ross, 43, of School Street, Berwick was also charged with heroin trafficking. His bail was set at $5,000j followed by transport to the jail.

Members of the Somersworth Police Department were also involved in the bust, arresting Emily McKenna, 19, of School Street, Berwick, at a residence on Walnut Street, Somersworth. She was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. McKenna was transferred to the Strafford County Jail in Dover. The charge is the result of a warrant being issued in the State of Maine on heroin trafficking charges and violation of bail conditions. McKenna will be returned to Maine upon her waiver of extradition. Her bail is $10,000.

Berwick Police Chief Timothy Towne, in announcing the arrests, stated, "The Berwick Police Department will continue to remove drug dealers from our community. We realize that addicts will fuel their addiction anyway possible however, when the addict turns into an enterprising narcotics dealer, they become our primary focus and we do whatever we can in order to remove them from our streets."

Berwick Police Department was assisted in the probe and arrests by the Somersworth Police Department, Eliot Police Department, Maine Department of Corrections Probation Department, New Hampshire State Police NIU, Ogunquit Police Department and the Child Protection Unit of the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
