ROCHESTER - The missing 17-year-old Rochester girl who went missing earlier this month has been located safe and unharmed in Pennsylvania, Rochester Police said today.

Alissa Gerard was taken into custody along with a 23-year-old man thought to be her boyfriend at a Walmart in Somerset County.

Daniel Strong was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice on an underlying charge of interference with custody, a felony.

The pair had been missing since Sept. 9.

Both Gerard and Strong remain held in Pennsylvania while New Hampshire authorities will now be working to extradite them back to Strafford County.

Rochester Police noted in a release this afternoon that the investigation remains active, and more details will be available at a later time.
