Milton Police Officer honored for bravery for trying to save man's life

CONCORD, N.H. - A Milton Police officer on Friday received the New Hampshire Congressional Law Enforcement Award for trying to save a Wakefield man involved in a fiery crash in Milton earlier this year. Officer Nicholas Nirgianakis was honored for going "Above Mark Adjutant, 45, of Wakefield, died later that day at Brigham and Women's Hospital after being Medflighted in a desperate attempt to save his life. Nirgianakis was recognized for his heroic efforts to save Adjutant without regard for his own safety. Good Samaritans Ronald Sebastian and John Long, along with Nirgianakis, were recognized for their bravery at a Board of Selectmen's meeting in June.
