ALFRED, Maine - A Milton, N.H., man has been indicted in the gross sexual assault of a victim under the age of 14 in Kittery last November.

Jacob Wirth, 21, of 6 Remick Drive, was formally charged in York County Superior Court on two counts of unlawful sexual contact and one count of gross sexual assault, a Class A felony.

According to the indictment, Wirth committed the crimes between Nov. 8-13 in Kittery.

Kittery Police today declined to give any further details of the case, including the victim's sex and exact age, which is listed only as under 14 in court documents.

Wirth, if convicted on all counts, faces a maximum prison sentence of 40 years.

This month's grand jury indictments were handed down March 8 and released on Wednesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
