MANCHESTER - A 22-year-old man has been indicted in the fatal shooting of another man in Manchester in October.

Tyrese Harris was formally charged in connection with the death of Dzemal Cardakovic, 45, on Oct. 29.

Harris faces a second-degree murder for knowingly causing the death of Cardakovic by shooting him, and one alternative count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing his death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.

Harris was also indicted on one count of reckless conduct for driving his vehicle, a deadly weapon, recklessly, and one count of falsifying physical evidence for destroying, concealing, or removing the handgun used to shoot and kill Cardakovic, according to a Wednesday statement from the Attorney Generals Office.

Police say Cardakovic was fatally shot when he got out of his truck and walked toward another vehicle on South Willow Street near the Mall of New Hampshire.

Harris continues to be held without bail pending his arraignment.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to warrant moving forward to trial.
