CONCORD - A Dover man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of ammunition.
According to court document and testimony, Isaiah Johnson, 37, of Flancers Court, was in a car pulled over by Dover Police for a traffic stop on Sept. 20, 2016.
During the stop, police observed Johnson acting suspiciously in the passenger's seat and ordered him out of the vehicle. They conducted a safety patdown, which revealed an ammunition clip in his pocket.
As a previously convicted felon, Johnson is prohibited from possessing ammunition or firearms.
Johnson pleaded guilty to an indictment in this case on May. Following his term of imprisonment, Johnson will be placed on supervised release for three years.
The matter was jointly investigated by the Dover Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shane B. Kelbley.
