Man arrested on negligent homicide charges in deaths of two in Gilsum crash

GILSUM - Two people seriously injured in a March crash in Cheshire County have died as a result of their injuries, and the driver of the other vehicle has been arrested on negligent homicide charges.

The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. on March 29 in the area of 644 Route 10 in Gilsum where State Police found that a two-vehicle crash involved a 2023 Ford Transit van traveling north on Route 10 and a 2021 Kia Seltos traveling south.

The driver of the Kia Seltos was identified as 81-year-old David Bosma. Bosma was taken to Cheshire Medical Center and then transported by a DHART medical helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. The passenger of the Kia, Kathleen Bosma, was also transported by a DHART medical helicopter to Concord Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Both later died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Ford Transit, 29-year-old Alexander Bazarnicki, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Following the deaths of the Bosmas, Bazarnicki was charged with two counts of negligent homicide on Thursday. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Keene District Court on Monday.
