Sgt. Jonathan Shapiro testified in a federal interstate stalking case. The case was regarding a Mr. BENJAMIN LEE (51 y.o.) of Greenfield, Missouri, who travelled from Missouri to Maine in a vehicle. LEE was in possession of multiple loaded firearms and various other materials that appeared to be an abduction kit. Sgt. Shapiro stopped the suspect vehicle in Limerick. Due to the good response and investigative work by Troopers Kristy Libritz and Matthew Williams, and Det. Corey Pike an initial State of Maine stalking case was developed. Due to the interstate nature of the case it was turned over to the FBI. 9-16-13 BENJAMIN LEE was federally convicted of Interstate Stalking in federal court in Portland. Sentencing hearing will be in 2 to 3 months.
9-2-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells charged RENOIR LAPOINTE (31 y.o.) of Portland with criminal OAS following a traffic stop on Rt. 4 in Alfred. LAPOINTE was stopped for no inspection sticker.
9/2/13 Tpr. Kyle Wells arrested ZACHARY HINES (19 y.o.) of Lebanon for DV Criminal Threatening and VCR following a verbal domestic at 246 North Rochester Road in Lebanon. Sgt. Robert Burke and Tpr. Jessica Shorey assisted.
9/3/13 while running traffic on Route 202 in Lebanon Tpr. David Coflesky stopped a vehicle in which the operator was not properly secured in with his seatbelt. Upon identifying the driver and other passengers in the vehicle it was discovered that the front passenger, JACOB MARTIN (19 y.o.) of Rochester, NH had an active warrant out of Maine. On MARTIN’S person a hypodermic needle was located. MARTIN was transported to the York County without incident.
9/5/13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt stopped a Jeep Cherokee for an expired July 2013 Inspection sticker. BRITTNEY WALKER (22 y.o.) of Acton, who was a passenger in the vehicle, admitted to Tpr. Schmidt that she had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. After searching the vehicle Tpr. Schmidt summonsed WALKER for Sale and Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
9/6/13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt responded to a party complaint. One of the individuals at the party was identified as DERICK CHENETTE (31 y.o.) of Lebanon. CHENETTE was intoxicated which is a violation of his conditions of release. Tpr. Schmidt arrested CHENETTE and transported him to York County Jail.
9/8/13 Tpr. Wells charged JOSHUA ELLIOTT (30 y.o.) of Lebanon with Criminal OAS following a traffic stop on Bigelow Road in Lebanon. ELLIOTT was stopped for an expired inspection.
9/8/2013 Tpr. Adam Schmidt stopped a vehicle for turning without giving appropriate signal. The vehicle was operated by ARMAND PAY (49 y.o.) of Berwick. Tpr. Schmidt conducted SFST’s on PAY and at the conclusion arrested PAY for Operating Under the Influence. PAY was transported to York County Jail.
9/10/13 Tpr. Kyle Wells arrested STEVEN SAIDON (39 y.o.) of Sanford for Operating after HO (class C) and for an active warrant following a traffic stop on Emerson Street in Sanford.
9/11/2013 Tpr. Adam Schmidt was running traffic in Lebanon. Tpr. Schmidt stopped WILLIAM BATES (29 y.o.) from Farmington, NH for not wearing a seatbelt. BATES had a suspended license from an OUI. BATES was summonsed for the OAS.
9/13/13 Tpr. Matthew Williams arrested CRAIG HAZARD (27 y.o.) of Waterboro for OUI Class C and OAS Class E following a traffic crash in Hollis.
