Troop A weekly news
7-14-13 Troopers Jonathan Heimbach and David Coflesky went to 30 Columbus Circle in Lebanon in response to a request at that residence. The Troopers learned en-route that BENJAMIN LEGAN (22 y.o. of Lebanon) had a warrant for his arrest and was under bail conditions prohibiting him from being at the residence. LEGAN was taken into custody without incident and transported to Goodall Hospital for an evaluation. LEGAN was cleared for incarceration and transported to York County Jail where he was charged with VCR.
7-18-13 Sgt. Robert Burke was monitoring the intersection of Cape Rd. and Waterboro Rd. in the town of Hollis when he observed a vehicle squealing tires in the parking lot of the Sunoco station. Sgt. Burke stopped the vehicle for unnecessary brake/acceleration noise. Upon contact with the operator, JOSHUA BURGESS (26 y.o. of Buxton), it was determined that his license was suspended for OUI and he was in violation of his bail conditions by committing a new criminal act. He was arrested for Violating Bail Conditions and OAS. He was transported and booked in the York County Jail.
7-19-13 Tpr. Jeremy Forbes summonsed ALEXANDER MELANSON (26 y.o. from Biddeford) for Operating after Suspension and Violation of Condition of Release on Lincoln St. in Biddeford. Subject was stopped for an inspection violation.
7-18-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells charged JAMES LAVOICE (22 y.o. of Farmington, NH) with Operating Without a License following a traffic stop on route 202 in Lebanon. LAVOICE was stopped for a seatbelt violation.
7-19-13 Troopers from Troop A and G were summonsed to Interstate 295 to shut down the highway. A construction excavator working along the north side of the highway had struck cable lines that were crossing the highway. The incident brought the lines down and traffic had to be detoured off the highway into Portland for five hours. Sgt. Robert Burke, Troopers Lawrence Rose, Michael Pappas, Justin Cooley, Kyle Wells, and Adam Schmidt represented Troop A while Troopers Kevin Rooney and Phillip Alexander responded from Troop G.
7-19-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells arrested JASON DEAN (35 y.o. of Sanford) for Operating After Habitual Offender (Class C) and VCR following a traffic stop on Route 202 in Lebanon. DEAN was stopped for an expired inspection sticker.
7-21-13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt conducted a bail check on SUZANNE LELIEVRE (48 y.o. of Lebanon) at her residence. SUZANNE admitted to consuming alcohol and was in possession of a Coors Light. SUZANNE was arrested for Violation of Conditional Release and transported to York County Jail.
Troop A Troopers participated in the Alfred Festival on 7-20-13. Our two antiques the 1940 motorcycle operated by Tr. Fiske won first prize and the
1942 Ford operated by Retired Trooper Nickerson won second place.
