Lois Abbott ... enjoyed flowers, especially pansies; at 90

ROCHESTER - On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Lois Abbott, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died at the age of 90 at her home in East Wakefield with her family there providing comfort and love.

Lois was born in Berwick, Maine, to Edna Harriman on January 10, 1932. She graduated from Berwick High School in 1950. Lois married Arthur Abbott in 1953. She lived in Berwick her whole life until her marriage to Arthur when they moved to Lebanon, Maine. Lois later moved to Beverly Hills, Fla., and also summered in East Wakefield.

Lois was employed at General Electric in Somersworth for nine years. She also worked as a telephone operator with NYNEX for 25 years and loved her job helping people. After her retirement, she continued to be a life-time member of The Telephone Pioneers.

Lois loved her cat, Sweetie, reading her extensive collection of books, solving puzzles, and spending time with her family. She crocheted beautiful and colorful afghans for each of her immediate family members. She loved the birds that came to her bird feeder, her flowers, especially pansies, visiting the ocean, and her summer home on the lake in East Wakefield. Lois was feisty and had a fun sense of humor.

Lois is survived by her children Janet Perry, Sandra Mun and her husband Kam, Deborah Wilbur and her husband Dennis, and Karen Abbott. Lois is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Brandon, Marissa, Sierra, Alyssa, Kyle, Evan, Adam, Mikaila, and Kaitlyn. Lois also had three great grandchildren: John, Leela, and Elise. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur.
