DOVER, N.H. - A South Lebanon man charged with drunken driving and indicted for felony evidence tampering in connection with the case is expected to be offered a plea deal by prosecutors.

Rene Drapeau, 49, of 46 Bigelow Road, was arrested for DWI on Nov. 18 after he crashed his 1992 Buick Lesabre into a utility pole in the area of 244 Pickering Road in Gonic.

The indictment alleges that Drapeau, believing an investigation was imminent, removed a can of dust cleaner from his car in order to impair the probe.

The Class B felony carries a 3½-7 year prison sentence and a $4,000 fine. The DWI, meanwhile, is a misdemeanor offense.

Assistant Strafford County Attorney Katelyn Henmueller said today that while she couldn't discuss terms of any potential plea deal, the state will be offering Drapeau some type of deal prior to a dispositional hearing next month.
