LEBANON - A well-known and respected chiropractor who has a practice in Springvale, Maine, is recovering at Maine Medical Center after he was injured while trying to remove snow from his Lebanon home’s roof on Saturday.

Dr. Paul Basko underwent surgery at Maine Medical Center this morning, according to Basco Chiropractic of Springvale.

According to a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified, Basko may have fallen when his ladder slipped on snow by his Fall Road residence. The neighbor said they believed Basko may have laid in the snow injured for a period of time on Saturday before being found by family members.

A series of three significant snowstorms in 10 days left homeowners facing increasing pressures to clear roofs to avoid collapses.

Professional roof clearing contractors continue to urge residents to use roof rakes or hire professionals to clear their roofs.

Other chiropractors have been called in to assist Basko's patients in his absence.
