ROCHESTER - Karl G. Bostrom III, 62, died on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 23, 1961, in Dover, he was the son of the late Karl G. Bostrom II, and the late Judith (Joy) Vachon.

Karl worked as a machinist for many years, including Teledyne D.G. O'Brien. Karl was a Jack of all trades and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and most recently camping with his family. He loved his New England sports teams, particularly the Red Sox and the Celtics. If there was a game on, he was watching it. He was lovingly known as Papa to his grandchildren, whom he adored, and he was the happiest simply spending time with his family.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, his wife, Jacqueline (Pelletier) Bostrom of Rochester; his children Shannon Bostrom (Kevin Tallman) of Rochester; Karl G. Bostrom, IV, (Sarah Field) of Eliot, Maine; and Shana Hudson-Liebel (Samuel Liebel) of Union; his grandchildren Lexi (Jullian), Taylor, Gunner, Gavin, Madeline, Lucas, Matilda, and Bellamy, as well as his best friend, his dog, Max.

He is also survived by four sisters, Joy Dore, Mandee Hermonat, Debi Downs, and Christine Vachon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Valmore Vachon.
