CONCORD - A Guatemalan national who was in the United States illegally was sentenced in Hillsborough Superior Court on Tuesday to 33 years to life in prison for stabbing to death a Nashua woman in 2022.

Julie Graichen, 34, was murdered by 27-year-old Jose Miguel Ramirez Vasquez in Nashua on Aug. 5, 2022. He pleaded guilty in August.

Police were looking to nab Vasquez on an arrest warrant the night before Graichen was killed in a Nashua apartment.

Vasquez' immigration status is now subject to federal analysis and/or enforcement, which would be a federal matter and not carried out by the State of New Hampshire Department of Justice.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley and Attorney Alex Kellermann with assistance from Victim/Witness Advocate Sunny Mulligan-Shea.
