Hub Hall is the hub for good grub at North Station

Chicken, below, and pork corn tortillas were a great find; we'll be back (Rochester Voice photo)

For anyone going to Boston on the Downeaster you'll notice some marked improvements at North Station, including Hub Hall, an art deco-style food court that boasts almost 20 food and drink options within one space.
We ate at two of them and they were both delicious.
One was the Boston Soup Co, which offered up a bowl of their homemade chicken soup for $12.
While the price might seem a bit steep, it's really not much more than what you'd pay at any Northern Seacoast eatery post recent inflation issues.
And in Boston inside a brand new food court, it was one of the least expensive.
But what blew us away, was the taste. Well seasoned with spices including a nice hint of cilantro, this broth was absolutely delightful with huge chunks of all breast meat chicken with enough protein to get you through half the day. There were also carrots and other diced root vegetables, jasmine rice and swiss chard to round out this hearty option.
After sharing the bowl with my daughter and granddaughter I ventured out again, this time to Naco Taco, a completely gluten- and nut-free establishment, which has its main location in Cambridge.
This was another great discovery, with an even bigger bargain: two corn tortillas or tacos for $12.
A few months ago it was $10, but like I noted earlier, Bidinflation.
The chicken tortilla came with chipotle-smoked thigh meat, shredded iceberg lettuce and crema, a slightly tangy condiment similar to sour cream but thicker.
Our pulled pork corn tortilla came with radish, cebolittas, a spring onion; cilantro crema and a chile de arbol glaze, a slightly spicy smoky, nutty flavored sauce that is a little milder than cayenne pepper, so you have been warned.

One other quick fact about North Station, itself. It is now a "gated" station, which means you need to scan your train ticket to get in or out.
