Heat, humidity and flood warnings pose triple threat to Northern Seacoast
Staff reports 6:54 a.m.
The Greater Rochester area will be under an unusual dual threat today with a heat advisory for temperatures approaching the 90s with very high dew points, plus a flood watch as strong thunderstorms move in this afternoon. Both Thursday and Friday afternoons could see powerful thunderstorms with damaging winds and even the possibility of an isolated tornado. Saturday showers finally usher in some cooler weather through the weekend and into next week. The city of Rochester normally makes cooling stations available at City Hall and the Rochester Public Library during high heat events.
