ROCHESTER - A city man charged in a violent home invasion in November was arrested again on Thursday in a robbery outside a Rochester bank.

When police caught up with him he was being held by an employee of Auto Zone where he'd fled trying to elude two passers-by who had seen the alleged robbery occur in the People's United Bank parking lot.

Ryan Tiberio, 22 of 9 Western Ave., was charged with one count of felony robbery along with two electronic bench warrants.

The incident began around 3 p.m. when Rochester Police got a call for a robbery at the bank itself. Officers soon learned the victim had been robbed of their purse in the bank parking lot, and two passers-by had given chase to the suspect who fled into the Auto Zone where he was caught.

Tiberio refused bail and is being held at Strafford County Jail awaiting his arraignment on the charges today at Rochester District Court.

Tiberio was arrested along with three other men on Nov. 17 in an Academy Street home invasion in which a gun and knife were used. He was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance after that arrest.
