ROCHESTER - To celebrate Arbor Day, the City of Rochester has partnered with Eversource and the Arbor Day Foundation to host a tree giveaway at the Rochester Ice Arena in May. More than 100 trees and shrubs will be given away at no cost to Rochester residents. Trees will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Sizes will range from three to five feet tall. The initiative is part of Eversource's broader commitment to environmental sustainability across its three-state service area. By planting trees strategically, residents can help reduce energy costs, improve air quality, and enhance their property. The mission of the event is to promote sustainability and increase green space throughout the community. To reserve a tree, residents must visit Eversource.com starting today and complete the online application. The website features an interactive tool to help residents select the most suitable tree or shrub based on their property's available space and energy-saving potential. Once an application is submitted, residents will receive confirmation of their selected tree and additional pickup details. Tree pickup is scheduled for May 7, at the Rochester Ice Arena, located at 63 Lowell St. Residents who reserve a tree must pick it up on their selected date and time.
