ROCHESTER - Freda A. Smith, 70, of 37 Nutter Street in Rochester died on December 24, 2014 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, following a period of failing health.

Born on January 26, 1944 in Farmington, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Leona (Fortier) Turcotte.

She worked for a time at CCS in Portsmouth, NH and for many years she and her husband as well as family members owned and operated Candlelight Manor, a shared home for the elderly.

She enjoyed crafting and traveling to Germany, many day trips and across the United States with her husband, family and friends. Her first love was her family.

She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her, including her husband, Dana H. Smith Jr. of Rochester, sons; Donald and his wife, Karen Diamant of Milton and Darin and his wife, Debra Diamant of Rochester, and her beloved grandchildren; Abbigail, Austin, Alicia, and Andrew Diamant.
