LEBANON, Maine - A former Rochester man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he entered the victim's residence on West Lebanon Road and stabbed him multiple time in the face, back, chest and head.
Jeremy Potvin, 35, formerly of Little Falls Road in Rochester, N.H., apparently entered the residence uninvited and began stabbing the man, according to a press release sent out by York County Sheriff William King Monday night.
The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. on Monday when York County Deputies were called to West Lebanon Road in Lebanon for a "disturbance."
While en route to the call, deputies were notified that there was a stabbing at the residence and the 52-year-old victim had left the residence seeking medical attention for his injuries.
According to Sheriff King, Deputy Jason Solomon intercepted the victim on Carl Broggi Highway (Route 202) and summoned rescue units to the scene.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest, face, back, and head, police say. He was transported to Maine Medical Center due to the extent of his injuries.
Police units commenced a search for Potvin, and he was eventually located by the Berwick Police Department and held for the Sheriff's Office.
Potvin is charged with attempt murder. His bail was set at $150,000 cash, and he remains in custody at York County Jail.
He will be arraigned Wednesday at 1 p.m.
