ROCHESTER - A Farmington woman with a lengthy criminal history was arrested for driving drunk Tuesday after a motorist alerted police to an impaired driver on Route 11 near Walmart.

Melissa Mackay Whittum, 43, of 57 Shady Lane, was also charged with driving after revocation or suspension and on a capias warrant out of Strafford County Superior Court in connection with a drug possession case.

According to Tuesday's police log, a 5 p.m. call into Rochester Police dispatch reported an erratic driver "all over the road" who had pulled into the Shoe Depot store across from Walmart.

After a responding officer caught up with Whittum a field sobriety test was administered and she was transported to Strafford County Jail pending a likely arraignment today in Superior Court.

Whittum was charged with promoting prostitution and possession of a controlled drug during a traffic stop on Chesley Hill Road on Halloween night in 2013. At the time she was on probation on a separate charge.
