LEBANON - The West Lebanon Community Ladies Circle announced on Wednesday that the Empty Bowls fund-raiser held recently was a resounding success once again. The restaurants that donated soup or chowder are Dee's Diner 202 Lebanon, Spaulding Steak and Ale, Jimmy Jones Locker, Benedict's Grill, Roberts Maine Grill, Kittery, Applebee's of Sanford, Noble High School and Jerry Paquette of Lebanon plus all the circle members. More than 30 different soups and chowders were served with. Panera donating french bread for 100. The bowls were sold for $12 (the buyers choice), with buyers then able to enjoy as much soup and chowder as they wanted. The proceeds this year will be divided between The Lebanon Food Pantry located at The First Parish Congregational Church Center Road, and the MSAD#60 Backpack Program, which sends home food for the weekend to children who receive reduced-cost meals.
