Elderly Claremont woman dies in Route 12 collision

WESTMORELAND - An elderly Claremont woman was killed on Friday when she collided with another vehicle on Route 12 in Westmoreland.
The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the area north of Capron Road when police say a 2009 Suzuki SX4 driven by Sharon McLaughlin, 72, of Claremont was traveling southbound when it crossed the yellow line and struck a 2021 Toyota Venza driven by Zachary Turpin, 33, of Franklin, Mass.
McLaughlin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Turpin, and a passenger in his vehicle, Jillian Turpin, 29, also of Franklin, were both taken to Cheshire Medical Center with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.
