ROCHESTER - The Dynasty Chinese Restaurant and Lounge will serve a three-day suspension of its liquor license beginning this Sunday after the restaurant was found in violation of overserving a patron last April.
The penalty was handed down during a Liquor Commission Enforcement hearing held earlier this month.
Beside the three-day suspension the longtime Rochester eatery was also levied a $1,000 administrative fine.
According to minutes from the most recent commissioner's meeting, a Dynasty employee "served or sold alcoholic beverage to a patron who a reasonable and prudent person would know is intoxicated."
Additional offenses included in the report were that the Dynasty allowed "an employee to smoke (vape) on the premises while being under the age of 21; failed to keep their premise in an orderly manner, resulting in a brawl; allowed an under-aged individual to possess or consume alcoholic beverage, allowed an employee to consume alcoholic beverage while working" and "gave free drinks to customers, patrons, members or guests."
For their part Dynasty officials have pledged to conduct additional staff training to prevent further violations.
The violations stemmed from incidents that occurred on April 26.
The Dynasty is the second liquor-serving establishment in Rochester to lose its liquor license in less than four months.
In late September the Club Victoire lost its liquor license for 20 days following the Liquor Commission's ruling that it overserved alcohol to several patrons including to the Rochester driver who struck and killed the commander of the New Hampshire Air National Guard in July of 2024.
Paul Clement, 82, of Rochester, was sentenced to five-10 years earlier this month for the fatal hit-and-run that killed John Pogorek, 57, of Strafford, the former commander at Pease.
