ROCHESTER - A Rochester teenager was cited in a two-car collision at the corner of South Main and Franklin on Wednesday.

Investigating officers learned that Verne Scadding, 80, of Alfred, Maine, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta south on South Main Street heading out of town around 2:50 p.m. when Destiny Duncan, 18, of Rochester was traveling north on South Main Street and made a left turn into the Care Pharmacy Parking lot.

When Duncan made the turn she collided with the Jetta, police say. Scadding and a passenger from Duncan's vehicle were both taken to Frisbie Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Duncan was cited for failure to yield, a violation level offense. The accident remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact Officer Lambert at the Rochester Police Department, 330-7128.
