Donna Stevens ... furthered education despite MS

ROCHESTER - Donna Lee Stevens, 60, of Rochester, died Thursday, July 10, 2014.

She was born to the late Richard and Ann Gurney, on March 18, 1954, in Portland. She married James Stevens and they lived together until his passing in 1990. She has had the faithful companionship of Walther Winship Jr. for the past 15 years.

Donna was diagnosed in 1985 with MS and epilepsy. Despite these chronic debilitating problems Donna loved to learn and pursued her CAN, secretarial and beautician degrees and completed her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice in 2013. She was considering a master's degree.

Donna is survived by two children Donnette Fournier of Portland, and Frederick Fournier (and his wife, Becki) of Rochester, N.H. She is also survived by a brother, Keith Gurney and a sister, Holly Gurney-Allie, both of Portland; as well as seven grandchildren and a large extended family. She is predeceased by two sisters, Annette Gurney and Eugenia Folsom.
