DOVER - Police say a Dover woman found dead at her residence on Thursday likely died of a drug overdose.
Currently the death of Michelle Bettcher, 37, is being investigated by Dover Police and state Medical Examiner's Office.
Police responded to Bettcher's residence on Olde Madbury Lane around 7:30 a.m. after a family member reported finding her unresponsive.
Bettcher was found to be deceased on-scene, according to a statement released by police.
If Bettcher's death is confirmed due to a drug overdose, it will be the fifth such death in Dover this year.
In 2017 the city saw 13 suspected drug related deaths.
The Dover Police Department has responded to 25 nonfatal drug overdoses in 2018.
