Death counts stay high in Rockingham County, but locally a brighter picture

CONCORD - New cases of COVID-19 spiked on Thursday, likely a result of prolonged increased testing.

DHHS announced 101 new positive test results, including two minors, with 18 new hospitalizations.

Of those with complete information, 71 percent were identified as female and 29 percent male.

Locally, Rochester and Dover confirmed active monitored cases at 17 and 11, respectively, while Somersworth, Barrington, Farmington and Milton were all listed at 1-4 cases apiece.

DHHS also announced nine additional deaths due to COVID, including eight from Hillsborough County and one from Rockingham County. Two of the Hillsborough County deaths were men under 60.
