Thursday's daylong flurries amounted to no more than a couple of inches, but Rochester and surrounding towns saw a large number of crashes, mostly in the afternoon.
In Rochester alone, police responded to 10 motor vehicle accidents between 8 a.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. today, according to Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham.
"None of them were serious," he added. "Most were fender benders, rear end type accidents with a few single cars into a pole or stop sign."
According to Northeast Fire Alerts, the plethora of area accidents began around 1:30 p.m. in Barrington, when a car slid off Hall Road and struck a stone wall.
About an hour later two vehicles suffered minor damage when they collided in the area of 324 High St. in Somersworth.
Then around 3:25 p.m. it was reported that a plow truck knocked down a utility pole on Federal Street in Dover.
Just 10 minutes later a couple of cars collided near 141 North Main St. in downtown Rochester.
Around the same time in Wakefield, a pickup snapped another utility pole on Province Lake Road near the intersection of Acton Ridge Road.
As snow began to get heavier around mid-afternoon, the first injury was reported around 4 p.m. in a two-car Rochester crash on Gonic Road near Hemingway Drive with New England Fire alerts reporting one patient transported.
A half hour later a vehicle headed north crashed into a guardrail on the Spaulding Turnpike near mile marker 19.
Later around 10:10 p.m. a pedestrian was struck on Blackwater Road in the area of High Street in Somersworth with the victim being evaluated by rescue personnel.
