ROCHESTER - Anyone who reads the Rochester Police logs know they deal with a lot of stressful situations every day, and last Sunday was no different, especially when a call came into dispatch around 12:30 p.m. for a suspicious character pouring gasoline on the ground near the corner of Columbus and South Main Street. The subject was wearing a full face mask and dressed all in black with black gloves with the fingers cut out and a red bandanna. The caller said the man was carrying a green can that contained gasoline. When police arrived on scene a couple of minutes later they found the man who had been "pouring gas on the ground." The one-line message the officer sent dispatch sounded the all-clear. It read, "Male did not have gasoline, was an energy drink - units clear."
