Claire Grant ... longtime Somersworth Shoe employee

ROCHESTER - Claire E. Grant, 81, of Blackwater Road died at her home on January 12, 2015.

Born July 10, 1933, in Lebanon, Maine, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Dufault) Carter. she worked at Somersworth shoe for many years.

She was a member of the Somersworth #1887 Loyal order of the Eagles.

She is survived by her husband Herbert S. Grant of Rochester; two daughters, Cora Butler and her husband Chuck of Lebanon, Maine and Dora Gates and her husband Ron Jr. of Strafford; six stepdaughters, Clara Carnes of Seabrook, Pat Rollins of Rochester, Jannette Durgon of Mass., Donna Brown of Rochester and Robin Witham of Rochester; a brother Roger Carter of Rochester; a sister Jannette Monbleau of Rochester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Claire was predeceased by her parents; a stepdaughter Debbi Thyng; two brothers, Charles Carter Jr., and Donald Carter and one sister Lillian White.
