ROCHESTER - On Aug. 26 at 6 p.m., Rochester Police Officer Jonathan Marshall will be participating in the 2022 CHaD Battle of the Badges Baseball Classic at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester to Support CHaD. The CHaD Battle of the Badges Baseball Classic pits local police officers and firefighters against each other in a battle of Good vs. Good to support the kids and programs at Dartmouth Health Children's and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD).
CHaD Battle of the Badges Baseball proceeds are used to help provide kids at Dartmouth Health Children's with critical services such as support when they are in pediatric intensive care and management of chronic illnesses, as well as patient and family support services.
Patrol Officer Jonathan Marshall, who was a former first team All-State shortstop in high school, will be playing to support and raise money for his CHaD buddy, Haywood Trippe.
Haywood is an 8-year-old boy and Rochester resident who is living every day with Type I diabetes.
He was diagnosed as a toddler, at just 13 months old, and has been thriving ever since.
Haywood enjoys spending time outside with his sister, Zoie; Mom, Emilee; and stepdad, DJ. He loves throwing a football, hitting a baseball, or playing a game of basketball with his family and has never let diabetes hold him back from fun!
Going into third grade, Haywood loves to learn math and do projects for school.
