CONCORD - Well, another Friday, another Christmas Eve, waiting what presents may lie beneath the Reopening NH tree when Gov. Sununu hold his usual Friday press conference where most of the flexing open announcements have been made. Could it be youth baseball or soccer? Weddings? Summer Camps? All the hopeful aspirations, however, were dulled yet again by nine more lives claimed by the virus, including eight from Hillsborough County and one from Rockingham County, all 60 or older. Also confirmed cases continue to see large numbers due to increased testing, with 67 new active cases announced on Thursday by DHHS health officials. Eight new hospitalized cases were identified for a total of 393 (10%) since the pandemic took hold in March. While case numbers continue to stay high, current statewide hospitalizations have dropped by 20 percent over the past week, now below 100.
DHHS has also issued the COVID-19 Weekly Summary Report for the week of May 18, available at: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/cdcs/covid19/documents/covid-weekly-report-05182020.pdf More NH Covid numbers NH Persons with COVID-19 3,935 Recovered 1,767 (45%) Deaths Attributed to COVID-19 199 (5%) Total Current COVID-19 Cases 1,969 Persons Who Have Been Hospitalized for COVID-19 393 (10%) Current Hospitalizations 97 Persons Being Monitored in NH (approximate point in time) 3,925
