ROCHESTER - A young boy was injured in a single-car crash on Sunday on Washington Street, across from Rochester Crossings.

Police got the call around 8:15 a.m. and after an investigation found that Samuel Olone, 18, of Barrington was traveling eastbound on Washington Street, operating a 2004 Hyundai Accent, when his car veered across the westbound lane and struck a tree..

A boy thought to be about 12 who was in the vehicle was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital by EMS with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The vehicle suffered extensive front end damage and was towed from the scene.
