Attempted murder trial of Strafford man accused in vehicular assault begins today

DOVER - Jury selection begins today in the trial of a Strafford man accused of attempted murder of a woman by allegedly repeatedly striking her with his vehicle in November of 2022.
Guy Leighton Sr., 73, formerly of 1245 First Crown Point Road, Strafford, could face life in prison if found guilty of attempted murder, or up to 15 years if found guilty of an alternative charge of first degree assault,
The incident occurred near Leighton's residence, and left the woman, now 41, with multiple serious injuries.
The trial is expected to last six days following the seating of a jury.
Leighton remains in custody at Strafford County Jail where he's been since Nov. 30, 2022.
