CONCORD - The state Department of Corrections is actively attempting to locate and arrest a fugitive who has ties to Newmarket.
Cory Michael Watts, 54, was convicted of one count of Class B Felony kidnapping in April of last year and sentenced to four years of probation supervision.
Upon his release Watts never reported to the Manchester Probation/Parole District Office as directed. As a result, the court issued a warrant for his arrest, and he has been a fugitive ever since. Watts is believed to be in the area of Newmarket or Pembroke. He should be considered armed and dangerous based on information received that he may possibly have a handgun due to ammunition being found in a backpack belonging to him.
It should also be noted that he is a suspect in a pending sexual assault police investigation. The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is seeking any information that may lead to the location and arrest of Watts. Anyone who sees someone who resembles Watts should contact the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, or your local police department.
