ROCHESTER - Anita L. (Grondin) Green of Rochester, died peacefully in the loving embrace of her family on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. She was born March 25, 1938 in Rochester, the younger daughter of Leon and Germaine (Turgeon) Grondin.
A lifelong resident of Rochester, Anita was a 1956 graduate of Spaulding High School and attended MacIntosh College. Beginning her career with Varney's Insurance then Kendall's, she ultimately found her true calling assisting children and their families as office manager at The Rochester Child Care Center for over 30 years. Anita was active in politics and was the gracious First Lady of Rochester for 10 years.
She demonstrated her commitment to community for many years by volunteering at the Soup Kitchen, The Mother's Club and Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Anita enjoyed visiting with friends, gardening, playing cards, bowling, dancing, winning at bingo, being at York Beach, wintering in Florida, spending time at Sebago Lake with her sister and satisfying her curious and adventurous spirit by traveling often.
Above everything, she valued most the time spent with her family whom she loved selflessly and unconditionally.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 60 years, Richard Green; her loving children: Karen Green of Rochester, Dale Green and his wife Sherri of Aloha, Ore. and David Green and his wife Angela of Rochester. "Nana" will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Christopher Green, Krystal Moore and her husband Nathan, Timothy Green and his wife Elizabeth, and Patrick Green in whose lives she inspired. She also leaves behind her adorable great grandchildren: Haven, Leon, Olivia, Macy and Allisen; a sister, Nola (Grondin) Rolfe and her husband David of Westbrook, Maine, and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
