Probe continues into whether off-duty officer acted in self-defense in fatal shooting

PETERBOROUGH – The Attorney Generals Office has released new information regarding a fatal shooting in Peterborough involving an off-duty Peterborough police officer.
The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. on July 5 as police responded to a 911 call on Grove Street for a reported altercation involving two adult neighbors outside their residences.
Responding officers found a deceased adult male, identified as Jack Hutchings, 24, of Peterborough, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds....
