ROCHESTER - Albert W. Bickford, 98, of Cornerstone Court died Friday October 10, 2014 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born March 20, 1916 he was the son of Ernest and Frances (Kendall) Bickford.

Albert was a lifelong resident of Rochester. He was employed at General Electric for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer being a lifelong member of the Rochester Country Club and a former member of the Cypress Head Country Club in Port Orange Florida. Being an avid hiker he enjoyed hiking the wonderful trail of the White Mountains with his wife, family and friends and was a former member of the Sierra Club and the Appalacation Mountain Club. He was a member of the General Electric Employees Association and member of the Rochester Grange. After his retirement from General Electric he and his wife enjoyed traveling the country and visited all but 4 states. They also loved taking cruises with family and friends to the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and Alaska.

Members of his family include his wife of 73 years Mary (Dubois) Bickford of Rochester, his son, Donald Bickford and his wife Connie of New Durham and a daughter, Carolyn Ranagan of Rochester, his grandchildren; Cathy Landry, Dan Ranagan, Susan Booner, Chad Bickford and Jason Bickford, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother, Everett Bickford and his wife Drucella.
