5K fund-raiser to help NHDOC family whose dad died in bike accident

CONCORD - A group of New Hampshire Dept. of Corrections staff members collaborated to plan and facilitate a 5K road race in Sgt. Patrick Bettens' memory.

Bettens, an avid runner and cyclist, was a well-respected co-worker who was killed Sept. 5, 2018, in a bicycle accident.

The race will take place on Oct. 26 on the campus of NHTI. All proceeds will go toward a college fund for Bettens' two children.
