ROCHESTER - A Sanford man escaped injury in an evening accident on Friday in the area of Whitehall and Salmon Falls roads.
Police got the call around 7 p.m. and discovered that Kari Yeager, 40, was traveling south on Salmon Falls, left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The impact caused the pole to break at the bottom, which resulted in a power outage. Yeager was not injured.
The vehicle, however, suffered extensive front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
Salmon Falls Road remained closed for a time in the area of Whitehall Road while the utility pole was replaced and power restored.
