ROCHESTER - Ruth E McHugh of Rochester, died April 14, 2014. Ruth was Born July 26, 1934 in Medford, Mass. to Bernard A. and Ruth (Qualey) Marvin. Ruth graduated from Winchester High School and received a degree in library Science from Plymouth State College. Ruth married Francis McHugh and lived in Meredith, until 2005. She worked at the Meredith Public Library for many years and the Inter-Lakes Elementary School until she retired in 1992. Ruth was an avid gardener and quilter and antique dealer.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 60 years Francis of Rochester; three children Christina Michael and her husband Kevin of Sandwich; Steven McHugh of Stratham and Jennifer Ruth Smith and her husband Christopher of Lee; and two beloved grandchildren Emma and Nick Smith of Lee. Ruth is further survived by her sisters Barbara Canavan of Winchester, Mass., Joan Pickett and her husband Dr. B.W. of Fort Collins, Colo., Christine Randazzo, and her husband G. Robert of Winchester, Mass., and brother Bernard A. Marvin, Jr. and his wife Polly, of Piermont, and many nieces and nephews.
