MILTON - Milton Police are investigating a car fire late Saturday night on Townhouse Road.

The fire occurred across the street from Pineland Park Beach and was called into Milton Fire and Rescue around midnight.

Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss said the owner, who is from another town, told police he was working on the vehicle, a sedan, at an acquaintance’s home nearby and took it for a test drive when it broke down earlier in the evening around 9 p.m. He then reportedly left the car off to the side of the road.

Krauss said no arrests had been made, but that police were investigating because of the three hours that elapsed between when the car broke down and when the fire was reported.
