New Lebanon Fire and Rescue chief Dan Meehan

LEBANON - Selectmen Chairman Ben Thompson sent out a letter to television and print media on Wednesday inviting them to formally meet Lebanon's new Fire and Rescue chief and hear his presentation on the future of the town's first responders while answering any concerns residents may have over recent changes to Rescue.

The meeting will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lebanon Elementary School.

Among the topics Thompson said new Fire Chief Dan Meehan will be addressing are:

"- The combining of departments

- Chief's actual pay and hours actually worked

- Why the chief has use of the 2009 expedition (Command car)

- The lowering of our ambulance transport license from paramedic level to Advanced EMT and why we felt it necessary at this time."

Thompson said Meehan would also be rebutting "many of the false allegations" that have been recently heard around town.
