ROCHESTER - A man dressed as a woman wearing nylons over his head robbed the North Main Street branch of the Bank of New Hampshire on Thursday getting away with an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing with the loot, police say.

The call came in around 4:30 p.m. and when Rochester Police arrived at the 301 North Main St. bank they learned that the suspect had strode into the building just minutes before and given a note demanding money to a female teller.

The suspect left through the bank's front doors and walked across the grass and along North Main St. in a northeasterly direction towards Pizza Hut, police said. Officers later learned the suspect appeared to approach the bank prior to the robbery by crossing North Main St near Dominos Pizza and walking southwesterly along North Main Street prior to entering the bank.
