ROCHESTER - Lois Freda (Hartford) Bourgoine, 97, of Rochester died on Saturday October 18, 2014 at the Rochester Manor after a period of failing health.

Born on May 14, 1917 in Rochester, she was the oldest of nine children of Lyle F. and Josie M. (Glidden) Hartford.

She worked in area shoe factories from her late teens until retirement. She was a member of the Harvest of Praise Church of God n Rochester, where she served as church organist and pianist for nearly 30 years. She was actively involved in the church's Nursing Home Ministry playing the piano for worship services. She was also a volunteer at Lighthouse Christian Academy of Rochester where she played the organ and piano for weekly chapel services and served as an Assistant Art Teacher.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, George T. Bourgoine, her children, Louise M. Bourgoine, Leonard J. Bourgoine ; three brothers, Victor Hartford, Bert Hartford, Warren Hartford; three sisters, Blanche Kempton, Bertha Cox, Gladys Paquette.

She is survived by her brother Lyle F. Hartford of Morrill, ME.; and her sister, Esther Fortin of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
