LEBANON - Lebanon Fire and EMS will sponsor a blood drive on Feb. 13 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Station 2, 1524 Carl Broggi Hwy (Route 202).
The American Red Cross is desperate for blood donations after the mid-Atlantic blizzard a few weeks ago forced the cancellation of more than 300 blood drives across 20 states.
There is currently a critical shortage of blood products and an urgent need for more blood donors.
In Maine, the local Red Cross branch is hoping for a good turnout at the weekend blood drive to help replenish the depleted supplies.
Organizers say local donations stay in Maine and are sent to area hospitals.
