MILTON - Selectman Mike Beaulieu pulled off the surprise announcement and honoring of a special town volunteer perfectly.

At Monday's regularly scheduled selectmen's meeting, Beaulieu gently admonished Town House project manager John Katwick that there were too many keys out to the building and that he wanted him to view paperwork up at the selectmen's table that referenced the problem.

When Katwick approached the table, however, Beaulieu ended the friendly ruse, declaring what he had for Katwick, in fact, was a commemorative plaque and key symbolizing the town's gratefulness for commitment to the project, a total surprise for a humble and appreciative Katwick.
