An effort that began about two and a half months ago comes to fruition today as Lebanon voters go to the polls to save Rescue 2 and put Lebanon Rescue on a fast track to the future.

The Lebanon Voice and Save our Ambulance volunteers were in the thick of the fight to force a revote of the confusingly worded Nov. 4 warrant article in which townspeople, often against their own wishes, unwittingly voted to get rid of the town's most modern and technologically advanced ambulance.

The logo for Save our Ambulance was an ambulance traveling down a bumpy road, and one thing we can agree on. The logo was prescient.

The Lebanon Voice urges a "YES" vote on Question 4 to get rid of the Rescue Department's Enterprise Account and make it a regular, budgeted town department.

The Lebanon Voice wants the ambulance paid off in full today. Why? Because a bird in hand is worth two in the bush, we don't want to have to have another conversations about this in May when the town is trying to put together a brand new budget for both Fire and Rescue and frankly, it's time to move forward, not tread water.

Thank you, and see you at the polls.
